BUILDERS LIC 223784C, CERT B DIPLOMA IN CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT, CERT IV IN BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION (BUILDING)
Building is not just a profession for James, it’s a way of life that dates as far back as his childhood days when his father taught him the art of traditional timber boat building. This skill has been passed down through four generations and has enabled him to build four new boats ranging from 8 to 34 feet in length.
The love of building continued into adulthood, and in 1998 James started his career studying Materials Engineering at The University of New South Wales. This has provided him with a concrete understanding of the composition and suitability of materials in construction. In turn, this knowledge is applied to every build.
James has 20 years of industry experience and has mastered skills in timber, steel fabrication, precision TIG welding (gas tungsten arc welding), polished and off-form concreting, and composite fabrication.
In 2008, after 10 years forging a reputation as an accomplished craftsman and foreman, and being involved in multiple master builder award winning projects, James formed Technique Build paying homage to the techniques he learnt along the way.
REGISTERED ARCHITECT ARB NSW 8046, B.SCIENCE (ARCH), B.ARCH, CERT IV IN BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION (BUILDING).
Architects are leaders and communicators, using sketches, drawings, models, diagrams and renders to communicate their visions. Jamie, brings this skill set to the Technique Build team, seeing the projects we build from an architects perspective.
Jamie has completed two degrees in architecture, a certificate IV in building and construction, is a registered architect in New South Wales and was the founding partner of Hall Bowra Architects, a husband and wife boutique residential design practice in Sydney.
A long history of working for and alongside some very successful architects and builders has made Jamie a very valuable asset to our team. His experience in the construction industry is rare, from digging in the trenches to running his own architectural practice.
Jamie has a strong eye for detail, strong coordination skills, and understands the need for onsite perfection. He is a maker and ensures the architects vision is delivered as discussed and documented. Jamie also doesn't mind throwing on the tool belt to get the job done.
